Some notes on importing new sales orders
In the Products menu, look for the Import data programme.
Follow these four steps for a successful data import operation.

1. Select a data type
First, choose a data type from the list of options. If you've previously used this programme, you may already have a working spreadsheet with the necessary import template.
Otherwise, click Download template to download a blank spreadsheet with column headers into which you can populate the data.
2. Prepare the spreadsheet to import
Each data type requires a unique import spreadsheet format. Some types enable you to design your own custom formats or templates. If it's available, it'll appear as follows:
Click on the edit icon to edit or create templates. Then enter the data into the appropriate columns using the standard columns or your own template.
Remember that when you upload this file (see next step), the system will run a series of checks to ensure that the data columns are correctly formatted.
3. Upload spreadsheet file
Click 'Upload spreadsheet file' to choose a file to be imported.
In the 'File upload' window, you can choose or drag & drop files.
The data is checked and validated by the system. If any errors are found, the row and column with the invalid data will be shown. In the example below, the first error is shown as an invalid product type. Click the blue hyperlink below it to access the settings page and add the missing data (in this case, the product type).
To edit or add missing parameters for some error types, simply click the blue hyperlink (e.g. edit source).
After you've added any missing data or settings, click 'Re-check' to validate the data again. This fixing and rechecking process will continue until no more errors are found in the data.
4. Save imported data
When everything is ready, click 'Save data' to begin the import saving process.
This may take some time depending on the number of lines of data you have, so grab a cup of coffee while you wait.

Some notes on importing new sales orders
- Column A = order number or set it to "automatic"
- If an order number is entered, when uploaded, this order number will be used
- If it's set to automatic, the system gets the next order number automatically
- If this column is set to blank, then this line is skipped
- If the system detects that the order number has already created, then it skips it
- For creating multiple orders on the same file:
- The program checks if there is a change in the order number or the customer's name
- If there is a change, then a new order will be created
- If multiple consecutive lines have the same order no. or customer name, then these lines will be grouped into the same order
- If there are two (or more) lines have the same order number but the they have a different customer name, then only the first line is imported
- The program validates the customer name and product code to see if it exists in the system
