How does barcode scanning work in Qblue?
Scanning products into a SKU field is a useful and convenient feature that can be applied across various processes for different purposes.
For example, when creating a new sales order, scanning the barcode directly into the SKU field saves valuable time and significantly speeds up the entry process. It's also helpful when searching for a product—you can scan a product and immediately locate it in the system inventory without needing to manually input anything.
Other examples of when you might find barcode scanning useful include:
- Sales order dispatch (see below)
- Stock take entry (see below)
- Point-of-sale (see below)
- Sales orders entry
- Viewing product information
- Making inventory adjustments
- Conducting location transfers
Dispatching a Sales Order

To enable barcode scanning for dispatch:

- Under the Sales section, click Options.
- Under the Shipping section, click the toggle labelled Enable scanning on dispatch queue to turn the feature on or off.
Tip💡: press Ctrl+F to quickly search for the setting.
Once the feature is enabled, you’ll be able to scan product barcodes while dispatching a sales order for shipping and invoicing.
To scan products during dispatch:
- Click Sales on the overhead menu bar, then select Dispatch queue.
- Click on the sales order you want to dispatch.
- Begin scanning the products for the sales order. If a scanned item is not part of the order, an alert will appear.
