How do the bin locations work
Qblue uses the default picking bin concept where one product SKU has one bin location code per location. Each bin location code is unique within the location.
The bin locations can be printed on packing lists (non-priced version), so that the warehouse staff know where the items are.
For example:
To show the bin locations on the packing lists, enable this setting from the sales settings page:
Viewing the bin locations
The bin locations can be found from the Products > Inventory control menu. The functions on this page are:
- View the bin locations for a location / warehouse
- Create a new bin location
- Print bin location labels (size: 10x5cm)
- View products in a bin location
Bin location coding
Any type of bin location code is accepted by Qblue. The bin location codes can be set up to match the physical placement of the warehouse shelves or to match the labels already in place.
For example:
- Aisle (A1)
- Row (R1)
- Shelf (S2)
- Slot (01)
Bulk import of bin locations
Bin locations can be imported against product SKUs using the "Product attributes" import template. If the bin location is not in the system, it will be generated automatically during the import.
Please take note that you must switch to the correct location as the current working environment in order to import the bin locations for the location or warehouse.
Here is an example of the import process:
- Export the product attributes first
- Make the bin location changes on the spreadsheet
- When ready, re-upload the spreadsheet onto the system
