How gift vouchers work on Qblue

Gift voucher numbers can be generated with Qblue Inventory, and the vouchers can be redeemed during a point-of-sale payment transaction.

Setup:

  1. Set a expiry days number onto the sales settings page:
    • Sales orders > click more (on the right) > Settings; then on the right "Voucher (gift & service) expiry in days"
  2. Enter or create gift voucher products as non-diminishing products, for example:
    • Product SKU: GV50
    • Product description: $50 Gift Voucher
  3. Optional: set the terms and conditions to be printed on the voucher receipt. Note this is not intended for PDF printout.

Trigger for automatic generation of the gift voucher numbers:

The system automatically generates the gift voucher numbers when it finds a product (within a sales invoice) that has the term "gift voucher" in its description.

Print out:

  1. For point of sale:
    • For receipt auto print is enabled: it prints the invoice receipt first, then the voucher receipt.
    • For PDF invoice printout: the voucher numbers, their value, and the date of expiration will all be printed at the bottom of the invoice.
  2. For normal sales orders: same as the PDF invoice printout above.

Redeeming vouchers:

The Qblue Inventory-generated vouchers are only redeemable within Qblue Inventory; they cannot be used on the website or through other channels like Shopify or WooCommerce.
