Web browser & operating systems

Any modern web browser & operating systems can be used to access Qblue Inventory,

with the exception of when automatic printing of receipt docket is required, which calls for

  • Firefox or Windows Edge web browser
  • Windows 10 or higher operating system
  • Windows 10 IOT or Windows 11 IOT (touch-screen systems)

Eftpos integrations

Currently, Qblue Inventory supports the following Eftpos integration types:

  • In Australia: Square Terminal and Smartpay
  • In New Zealand: Smartpay and Verifone
  • In some Europe countries: Square Terminal

Click here to view the Square Terminal unit that we support.

Receipt printing

There are two printing methods on Qblue Inventory:

  1. Automatic printing (see below) - supported only on Microsoft Windows OS
  2. If there is no receipt printing is found, then it reverts to printing the A4 invoices

To setup automatic printing, please refer to this article: Auto print client setup

We recommend the Epson TM series of receipt printers that support the Epson ESC/POS commands. Check the printer specs from the respective manufacturer's website.

For example:

Epson TM-T82II

eReceipts

The "Email eReceipt" option will be available when finalising a POS order, providing that the customer has a valid email address.

Cash tills

We recommend a cash till that has a RJ12 port to be able to connect to the recept printer by means of a cash drawer kick cable.

To set up the cash till with an Epson receipt printer, plug the RJ12 connector cable from the cash drawer into the receipt printer.

For example: plug the RJ12 cable into the DK port like the below:

Barcode scanners

We recommend the Zebra range of barcode scanners for example:

Zebra DS2208
Zebra LS2208
Zebra DS9308

Other barcode scanners that connect to the host computer and translate barcode data into keystrokes are supported by Qblue.

To install a Zebra scanner, plug it into the PC/laptop's USB port (if wired), and it should start working by itself. When scanning a barcode, ensure the cursor sits in the product's search field. We recommend configuring the scanner to append a carriage return / ENTER key with the scanned barcode. For more information on this, go to https://supportcommunity.zebra.com/s/article/How-dodr-every-scan-with-the-laser-scanners-when-attached-via-USB-or-Keyboard-Wedge?language=en_US

Label printers

Qblue supports a range of desktop label printers, for example:

Zebra or Sato range of label printers

Standalone touch-screen computers

We recommend a PC running the Windows operating system. This will work for the automatic receipt printing and integration with the Eftpos terminals. Our POS application also runs on other tablet devices like iPad or Android (using a web browser such as Safari or Chrome). However, on these devices, the automatic receipt printing will not work.

Examples of a POS touch-screen PC:

Configuration required on Qblue

  1. For receipts (including eReceipts), choose the different options available from the Receipts design page
  2. (optional) setup automatic print client for Windows 10 or higher
  3. (optional) turn off the A4 printing on POS, this is done from the sales settings page under the title "Print A4 invoice instead of receipt"
