How to upload product images

There are two ways to upload product images:

  1. Manual upload
  2. Import via a data template

For products that have two or more variations, the parent (list) product and each of its variation can have their own default images.

Manual upload

Upload images and then set an image as the list product's default image:

  • Go to Products menu > Products/Sku variations
  • Edit a SKU
  • Click "Images" on the left
  • Click "New image" and follow the on-screen prompts
  • The first image that gets uploaded will become the default image for the list product. You can also select a different image (existing) and click "Set default"

Select or upload an image for a variation:

  • Go to Products menu > Products/Sku variations
  • Edit a SKU
  • Click "Change image" (top right)
  • If there are no images previously uploaded for the list product
    • Then the system will prompt you to upload a new image.
  • If there are images already uploaded against the list product:
    • Choose from an existing image, and click "Set default for variant"
    • Or, click "New image" to upload a new one and this will be set as the variation's default image

Import via a data template

To import product images via a data template:

  • Go to Products menu > Import data
  • Choose "Product images" from the data type dropdown list
  • Click "Download template"
  • Fill in the following columns
    • SKU: the product SKU (must be created in the system)
    • Image name or URL: the fully qualified website URL of the image, for example: https://mycompany.com/images/abcde.png
    • Position (optional): within the same parent (list) product, tell the system to display the images in this sorting position.

For products that have two or more variations, in order to choose a default image for the list product, and to set the variation images at the same time, use this format:

  • The first image of a group gets uploaded will be set as the list product's default image
  • Then the image gets uploaded against the SKU will be set as the SKU variation's default image
