How to edit a product via sales order entry?


Provided the user has the right user roles to edit products, here are the steps on how to get to the product's editor via the sales order entry page:

  1. Click on an open (not fulfilled / cancelled) order to edit
  2. Click on a product item to edit
  3. Click "Free inventory" or "Current inventory", or "All locations" (depending on the sales configurations)
  4. This will bring up the product information page, and on this page, you can see a lot more information about the product. These include:
    • Product image
    • Attributes like unit, weight, volume and bin location
    • Inventory levels for all warehouse or stock locations
    • And so on
  5. To edit the current product, click "edit" like the below:
  6. When finished, click "Save & close" or just close the editing window to go back to the order entry page

 

Tip: rather than editing a product directly through the order entry page, we strongly recommend opening a separate browser tab to make your changes. This approach is more streamlined and provides better service for your customers.
